Last winter, AMAL was contacted by the ACL, our national Automobile Club, with a proposal to jointly organise a tour for classic motorcycles. As is well known, the ACL is very active in Luxembourg’s classic car scene and would like to extend its activities to classic motorcycles in the future as well.
Since we already have a good working relationship with the ACL, particularly through the various training courses we have organised together, it was only natural for AMAL to take up this initiative jointly. After a few preparations, the day finally arrived on Sunday, 13 September: the first edition of the ACL Motoclassic, organised in collaboration with AMAL, was ready to go.

At 9:00 a.m., participants gathered at the Automobile Club’s headquarters in Bertrange. No fewer than 36 motorcycle enthusiasts had signed up for this first edition of the tour. The ACL provided coffee and croissants for everyone, and shortly afterwards the two groups of motorcycles set off, led by AMAL members who knew the carefully prepared route inside out. The oldest and smaller motorcycles were given a small head start, followed shortly afterwards by the slightly newer and faster machines.

The 91-kilometre route took us through several different regions of the country, heading towards Mondorf. Along the way, roughly halfway through the route, a short refreshment stop was arranged between Prettingen and Hunsdorf before we continued towards Mondorf.
We arrived there around midday, where we were welcomed at the “Elegance and Power Meeting”. The Rotary Club Esch/Alzette, which organised the event, generously provided the Motoclassic participants with food and drink vouchers, ensuring that nobody had to go hungry or thirsty.

The participants then had the opportunity to admire the exceptional classic cars and supercars on display in Mondorf Park and round off the day in the company of fellow motorcycle enthusiasts.
AMAL would like to extend its sincere thanks to the ACL, as well as to the organisers of the Rotary Club Esch/Alzette, for their support and for making this such an enjoyable day.
And perhaps next year we will once again be able to read:
“ACL and AMAL invite you to the second edition of the Motoclassic Tour…”
